Food Retailers’ Perspectives on Pilot Program Strategies to Promote Healthy Eating in SNAP Participants

Food retailers are key stakeholders in the development, implementation, and effectiveness of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) nutrition pilot programs. Qualitative interviews were conducted to gather insight from food regarding feasibility proposed strategies improve choices among SNAP participants. Two corporate six local-level retailer managers identified for based on participation, rural- urban code, type retail settings selected counties. thematic analysis was performed by four research team members, themes via consensus. Marketing, incentive, disincentive program models well-received, while restriction stocking standards less well-received. viewed simple programs with easy implementation educational components positively.
